A few things to know about Human body

The 65% mass of the human body comprises of element Oxygen. The second element according to mass present in the human body is Carbon. The 99% of mass of human body is contributed by Oxygen, carbon,Hydrogen, Nitrogen, Calcium and Phosphorus. The element that is eliminated through sweat is Sulphur. The acid present in the human stomach is hydrochloric acid.

Anaemia is caused due to the deficiency of element iron. The factors that determine the direction of chemical reaction in human body are enzymes. The factor that gives color to the human skin is called melanin.

The protein present in nail and hair of human body is Keratin. The measurement unit of energy obtained from food is called calorie. One gram of carbohydrates provides 4 calories of energy. The nutrient that gives most energy is fats. One gram of fats give 9.3 calories of energy. The nutrient that helps in the growth of cells is protein. One gram of proteins give 4 calories of energy.

The number of bones present in the neck of mammals is seven. The liquid portion of blood is called plasma. 55 % of blood is made of plasma. The 90% of plasma is water. Blood cells are of three types- Red blood corpuscles, White blood corpuscles and platelets.

The blood cells that help in providing immunity to the body is white blood corpuscles. White blood cells are produced in the bone marrow.The proteins present in the blood are antigen and antibody. Antigens are present in Red blood cells.
