Like any other exam, getting high marks in the NEET(National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test) exam is the dream of every candidate who is pursuing a medical degree. A mistake or a misunderstanding about the exam can seriously affect your performance in the exams. Forgetting to take photo, forgetting to take the admit card, improper answering on the OMR answer sheet could be some mistakes that can lead to your under performance in the exam.

Here is a couple of things that you should keep in mind before attending the NEET examination.

Don't be late for the entrance exam

Eventhough the examination time is from 10.00 AM to 1 PM, all the examination centres will be open from 7.30 AM. Remember, you cannot enter the examination centre after 9.30 AM. So, reach the examination centre before 9.30 in the morning.

Admit Card

The admit card for the exams will be available for download from CBSE's official website www.cbseneet.nic.in. In the performa attached with admit card, you have to paste your photo. You should also keep extra passport size photo with you. Don't forget to take your photos with you before going to examination hall. No papers more than admit card, performa and photo is permitted to the examination hall.

Writing pen

Pens will be provided to the candidates from the examination halls. You are not permitted to bring your own pen to the exam hall. You can choose blue/black color pen for answering.

What to do after getting Answer booklet

The test booklet will be provided to the candidates at sharp 9.45 AM. You can tear the seal of the booklet, only after you hear a bell at 9.55 AM. Once you have teared the booklet seal, check whether the code on your booklet and code on the answer sheet are same. If not return it and buy a new one.

Time Management

The time limit of exam is set such that one minute is given to answer each question. 180 minutes for writing 180 question. Utilise your time very wisely. Never too hurry, nor be too slow. Use the time wisely. Use the rough space provided on the test booklet to do rough calculations.

Don't spend too much time on each question. Attend easier and simpler questions quickly to save some enough time for harder and complex questions.

You can't change the answers once marked

Once you have marked your answer with pen on your answer sheet, you can't change it. So answer very carefully. There are also chances of marking answers against wrong question number. If you have done that, you can't redo the marked answer, also you will be punished with negative mark.

Aim for Maximum score

Never aim to score above previous years cutoff marks. Cutoff marks vary every year.
Aim to score the maximum marks you can.

Hope this article would help you to avoid some of the mistakes. All the very best for your NEET examination.
